Bottom-ranked Chalchuapa (0-5) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Fantasmas (3-2) 123-75 on Saturday evening. Fantasmas dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Chalchuapa's 54. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 60-39 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fantasmas looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Chalchuapa's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fantasmas made 8 blocks. American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Darius Daniels (178) chipped in 29 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. Fantasmas' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Markos Samuels (196, college: Arkansas Bapt.) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. Fantasmas maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. Chalchuapa at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. The game in Santa Ana was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Santiagueno (1-4) played at the court of eighth ranked Santa Ana (2-5). Santa Ana managed to secure a 7-point victory 78-71 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Frankyn Batista who had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Santa Ana's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest.
